SPRINGFIELD, VA – June 10, 2015 Strategy and Management Services, Inc. (SAMS), an award-winning, SBA 8(a) program participant, verified SDVOSB, EDWOSB, SBA-certified SDB small business, and Commonwealth of Virginia SWaM certified company who provides operations support, information technology services, facilities management functions, and a range of complex other services and solutions for customers across the federal government, announces today that it celebrates 7 successful years in business this month along with the recent graduation of its President and CEO, Staci L. Redmon, from Babson College’s Cohort of Goldman Sachs’ ‘10,000 Small Businesses’ Intensive Entrepreneurship Training Program.
SAMS’ achievement of its 7th Anniversary milestone stems from its continued commitment to the veteran and local business communities, while driving employment opportunities and growth across the local region. Along with the company’s exponential growth, achieving a Compound Annual Growth Rate of 199% each year since its founding, has been driven by several other key factors, including:
- Furthering SAMS’ central mission, the vision to “Exceed Expectations with People Who Make a Difference” to consistently differentiate its unique expertise and offerings amidst an increasingly crowded federal government market space;
- An ongoing commitment over the last year to diversifying its client base to continue to position itself for growth and sustained success going forward, particularly targeting the Virginia state and local procurement offices to bolster its large-scale growth efforts over the next five years; and
- Continued training and development at all levels of its staff, along with the creation of additional job opportunities, while deepening its footprint within the federal government sector.
Additionally, as a testament to SAMS’ guiding principle of nurturing entrepreneurship and continued training and development to bring top expertise and service to its clients, the company’s President and CEO, Staci L.Redmon, recently graduated from Goldman Sachs’ ‘10,000 Small Businesses’ intensive entrepreneurship training program at Babson College. A national program designed to help entrepreneurs create jobs and generate greater economic opportunity through expanded access to education, capital, and business support services, Redmon’s cohort at Babson comprised the largest class to-date, with 120 entrepreneurs from 32 states, Washington, DC, and Puerto Rico, representing a total of $260M in annual revenues and nearly 3,000 jobs across a large variety of industries.
As a graduate of the Babson cohort of the program, Redmon completed a blended online and face-to-face program taught over a period of 10 weeks by recognized business experts and peers alongside educational teams who teach the ‘10,000 Small Businesses’ program at community colleges across the country. Babson and Goldman Sachs have partnered since 2010 to offer this program to business owners who have companies at least two years old with four employees or more. Other key areas where training was focused include:
- Guidance in creating a customized growth plan that includes opportunity identification and feasibility analysis, financial management, leadership, negotiations and marketing; and
- One-on-one business counseling and a network of peer support from other small business owners, as well as leaders in the business world.
“I am very proud of SAMS’ 7-year milestone as well as the achievements I have attained through completion of the ‘10,000 Small Businesses’ program at Babson College,” SAMS’ President and CEO, Staci L. Redmon said. “Since founding SAMS in 2008 we have maintained a central commitment to excellence, nurturing entrepreneurship, staff growth, and evolution in order to bring the best in service and expertise to our clients, and this continues to be a critical element of our ongoing success. I am thrilled to put the new knowledge and training I have acquired from Goldman Sachs’ intensive program to work as we continue to grow and evolve toward our future goals to drive even greater growth and achievement.”
