Signal Magazine features Staci Redmon

Staci Redmon, President and CEO of SAMS, is featured in SIGNAL Magazine as this month’s “Ask the Expert”. U.S. Army Reserve Command Awards New Contract to SAMS

Strategy and Management Services, Inc. (SAMS) has been awarded a contract with the U.S. Army Reserve Command to provide Survivor Outreach Services throughout the U.S. and outlying territories. SAMS will support the Army Reserve Family Programs Directorate, who has developed a holistic multi-agency and multi-component strategy to centralize casualty operations and decentralize programs and services.

Staci Redmon, President and CEO of SAMS said, “We look forward to supporting this most important effort and we are grateful for the opportunity to continue to serve out Warfighters and their families.”

SAMS will provide Counseling Support, Support Services, Financial Services, Survivor Advocacy, Support Casualty Assistance, and Case Management services in Los Angeles, CA; Moffet Field, CA; Orlando, FL; Tampa, FL: Miami, FL; Decatur, GA; Darien, IL; Wichita, KS; Belle Chase, LA; Fort Dix, NJ; Rochester, NY; Fort Bragg, NC; Charlotte, NC; Coraopolis, PA; Fort Jackson, SC; Houston, TX; Salt Lake City, UT; Marysville, WA; Fort McCoy, WI; and American Samoa. This contract is slated to begin in June 2014.

Survivor Outreach Services’ (SOS) mission is to build a unified program which embraces and reassures Survivors that they will be continually linked to the Army Family for as long as they desire. The Survivor Outreach Services framework addresses issues regarding staffing, standardized training, long-term support, benefits and entitlements and provide a single portal for information. SAMS President and CEO speaks at Press Conference for House Committee on Small Business

Staci Redmon, President and CEO of Strategy and Management Services, Inc. (SAMS) was invited to give remarks on April 9, 2014 at a press conference on Capitol Hill for the U.S. House of Representatives, House Committee on Small Business release of a report on the impact of the “Ryan Budget” on Small Business. The press conference was headed by the Honorable Nydia Velazquez, the ranking Democratic member of the committee. She is the author of the Women’s Procurement Program, an initiative that has helped Federal agencies boost women’s participation in the Federal marketplace. “For Small Businesses to thrive, they require an environment that is conducive for growth.” Rep. Velazquez said. She also authored H.R. 2452, the “Women’s Procurement Program Equalization Act”, which allows agencies to target certain Federal contracts to women-owned firms.

“Rep. Velazquez is an outspoken advocate for Small Business and women entrepreneurs,” Ms. Redmon said following the press conference. “I am grateful for her work to ensure that women entrepreneurs are afforded equal opportunities to succeed as their male counterparts.”

SAMS President & CEO wins the 2013 Virginia Small Business Veteran of the Year Award

On March 27, 2014, the Virginia Small Business Development Center (SBDC) honored Staci Redmon, President & CEO of Strategy and Management Services, Inc. (SAMS), as the 2013 Virginia Small Business Veteran of the Year. Ms. Redmon is the first woman chosen to receive this prestigious honor. The award was established in 2000 to recognize Virginia Veteran entrepreneurs, who provide significant contributions to the economy and the community through ownership as a Virginia Small Business.

Ms. Redmon was presented with a plaque honoring her accomplishment at the Virginia SBDC’s award ceremony, which was held at the U.S. Army Navy Club in Washington, D.C.  In addition, Ms. Redmon’s name will be added to the list of past winners inscribed on the base of a permanent display at the Virginia War Memorial in Richmond, Virginia. “The Virginia SBDC Network has been instrumental in SAMS’ exponential growth over the last five years.” says Ms. Redmon. “I am proud to accept this award as a Veteran and honored to be the first woman chosen to receive this award.” Mr. Charles McCaffery, Director of the South Fairfax Small Business Development Center, nominated Ms. Redmon for the award.

The Virginia SBDC Network is a partnership between the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), George Mason University, and a variety of local organizations, including universities, Chambers of Commerce, and economic development groups. Its mission is to contribute to the development of Virginia’s economy and provide technical business assistance to small and medium sized businesses throughout Virginia.

Staci Redmon Featured as a Panelist at GMU STEM+ Women Conference

Staci Redmon, President and CEO of Strategy and Management Services, Inc. (SAMS), was a panelist at the STEM+ Women Conference held at George Mason University’s Fairfax Campus on March 25, 2014. The theme of the conference was “Empowering Women to Innovate and Lead in STEM+ Education and Careers”. The STEM+ Women Conference offers young women in high school and college the opportunity to learn about Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) and related fields, with a special focus on the skills necessary for navigating a global workforce.

Ms. Redmon participated on the STEM+ Culture panel, which focused on sociocultural issues that may discourage young women from entry into STEM fields, including the representation of women and gender in digital media and in online communities.

STEM+ Women is a partnership of the George Mason University Game Design Program and Simulation and Game Institute (SGI), and Women in Technology (WIT) Education Foundation.

Stop the Shutdown
