On March 27, 2014, the Virginia Small Business Development Center (SBDC) honored Staci Redmon, President & CEO of Strategy and Management Services, Inc. (SAMS), as the 2013 Virginia Small Business Veteran of the Year. Ms. Redmon is the first woman chosen to receive this prestigious honor. The award was established in 2000 to recognize Virginia Veteran entrepreneurs, who provide significant contributions to the economy and the community through ownership as a Virginia Small Business.
Ms. Redmon was presented with a plaque honoring her accomplishment at the Virginia SBDC’s award ceremony, which was held at the U.S. Army Navy Club in Washington, D.C. In addition, Ms. Redmon’s name will be added to the list of past winners inscribed on the base of a permanent display at the Virginia War Memorial in Richmond, Virginia. “The Virginia SBDC Network has been instrumental in SAMS’ exponential growth over the last five years.” says Ms. Redmon. “I am proud to accept this award as a Veteran and honored to be the first woman chosen to receive this award.” Mr. Charles McCaffery, Director of the South Fairfax Small Business Development Center, nominated Ms. Redmon for the award.
